It protects your batteries from over charge, reverse discharge, and over discharge. With the LVD (low voltage disconnect) feature, when you connect a load directly to the controller, it will automatically shut the load off if the battery voltage drops too low. This helps protect the battery from over discharging and will prolong it's life. The sturdy black aluminum base make it easy to mount and has built in heat dissipation fins. The screw clamp type connectors make it easy securely connect wires up to 8 gauge.
